Sunday night. What a day! Today is supposed to be the last day before the cease-fire, and as expected, Hezbollah threw everything it had at us today in Haifa! At least I hope that was everything they had! There were 15 bouts of warning sirens followed by big booms during the afternoon. One of the booms rattled the windows -- that's the first time that happened. We have an RC group that meets at our house once a week to discharge on the war, and we were meeting tonight. I'm sure it's one of the few times in the history of RC when a support group met while rockets were falling!!! As I have told you many times, I think we are very safe in our apartment, as we are tucked into the side of the mountain on the side of the mountain where rockets seldom fall. Anyhow, nothing came close but they were pretty loud! It has been quiet since dark, as it generally is. I hope that tomorrow brings a day of quiet and that it is quiet from now on.
I started the day with a wonderful long walk on the beach with my friend Naomi and her big dog Osso. We walk on a beach south of here and the beach is gorgeous. Naomi's boyfriend has been in Lebanon for a week and she has not heard from him. This is not unusual because they take away their cell phones so that their position cannot be detected through the phone's GPS. But she can take it comfort that if anything had happened to him she would surely be notified; the army is very good at that. Below are four pictures from our walk.
Tomorrow should be a very good day if all goes according to plan!
Love,
Pat
